Art 2 final exam
7. I'm very disappointed in myself in my clay project. In the beginning I was so motivated to make the best clay project ever. After a bit of time I was doing pretty good with it just a little bit behind but I accidentally let my clay dry out and I didn't have time to start over. It was my fault because I kept taking too long just to make some clay look like some sushi. I also kept forgetting to put wet paper towels in my bag along with the clay. But I did finish my reference photos, sketches, and a few pieces of sushi that dried out. It just made me kind of sad cause I thought it would be the coolest thing to make realistic clay sushi.
5. I thought Cat made an exemplary showcase of what the project was to depict. She took her time and molded the clay into a perfect sack shape. She individually made every peanut and edamame she was gonna put in the clay sack. She spent forever trying to find ways to make the peanut shape for each clay peanut. Towards the end she started to mess up on the colors a little bit but fixed them and made them very realistic in the end. I honestly didn't think they'd turn out very well in the end but with the added color and everything put together it looks like a model clay project. I thought pretty much everyone in the class did really well but Cat's really stood out.
4. I thought that the 3D drawing lesson we had at the beginning of the semester was very beneficial to my art. I had absolutely no idea how to draw 3D shapes at all but this year helped and I've been good at drawing them since. I also thought that the pattern making unit was super beneficial and actually fun. I felt like I was really good at making the patterns . The unit helped me a lot too with different versatile ways to make certain patterns. Even though both assignments took me forever to complete I actually had a lot of fun doing them. Hopefully I'll draw something with both techniques in the future.
